The City of Stratford’s annual asphalt resurfacing program has begun, and will include the following streets in 2026:
Waterloo Street from Douro Street to Albert St. and Ontario St. to Lakeside Drive (625 meters)
Downie Street from Goderich-Exeter Rail Crossing to Ontario (850 metres)
Norfolk Street from Downie Street to Borden Street (600 metres)
Cambria Street from St. Vincent Street to Erie Street (500 metres)
The asphalt resurfacing activities primarily relate to the rehabilitation of the roadway asphalt by partial and full depth asphalt removal, brick road removal, adjustment of structures, drainage improvements, curb and gutter repairs, and new pavement markings.
Construction for the asphalt resurfacing program starts Wednesday August 19th along Waterloo Street between Douro Street to Albert Street. Expect road closures to through traffic, local traffic access will be maintained throughout the closure period.
