The City of Stratford is preparing to reconstruct Albert Street between Waterloo Street South and Front Street, beginning in summer of 2023. The project will renew aging water, sewer and road infrastructure.
The specific improvements scheduled for the street are:
Upgrade the existing storm sewer, sanitary sewer and water mains.
Replace existing sanitary, storm (where available) and water services to the property line.
Upgrade the asphalt roadway curb and gutter, and sidewalks.
Installation of a traffic circle at the intersection of Nile Street and Albert Street.
Implementation of traffic calming measures to promote active transportation.
Removal of trees in poor health or in conflict with new infrastructure.
Street tree planting.
