Special and Public Meeting - Official Plan Review
Stratford City Council will hold a Special and Public Meeting pursuant to subsection 26(3) of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, on December 7, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Council Chambers located on the 2nd floor of Stratford City Hall at 1 Wellington Street, Stratford, ON, N5A 6W1.
The purpose of the Public Meeting is to share information and to hear and consider public comments on what revisions may be required as part of a proposed update to the City’s Official Plan. This information and any comments made can then be reviewed prior to Council consideration of an updated Official Plan. Please note Council will not make a decision at the Public Meeting.
Regular Council Meeting - Status Update and Additional Funding Authorization
At the February 23, 2026, Regular Council meeting, Council received a report providing an update on the Official Plan review and a request for additional funding to complete the project. Council adopted the following resolution:
"THAT the additional funding requirement of $54,255 for the Official Plan Review be approved and funded from the Plans and Studies Reserve (10%) and Development Charges Growth Studies Reserve Fund (90%).”
Special Council Meeting - Discussion Papers
Stratford City Council will hold a special non-statutory Council Meeting on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at 6:00pm in the Council Chambers in City Hall, 1 Wellington Street, Stratford. The matter affects the City’s ongoing review of its Official Plan. This meeting is non-statutory and is being held for information sharing, discussion, and early public input.
No decisions will be made at this meeting.
The purpose of the non-statutory meeting is to present and discuss the following Official Plan Review discussion papers:
- A Cultural City
- A Green City
- A Connected and Mobile City
- A Sustainable City
These discussion papers address key policy areas intended to help inform the next phase of the Official Plan Review, including culture and built heritage, environmental stewardship, mobility and accessibility, and broader sustainability and community well-being. The discussion papers are available in the Documents section of this page.
