- Replacing existing sanitary and water services to the property line
- Replacing the asphalt roadway, curb and gutter, and sidewalk
- Performing a "road diet" by converting the 4-lane road to a 3-lane road,
- Upgrading the street light illumination at intersections, and
- Upgrading the signalized intersection infrastructure.

Share Dump trucks full of dirt, with their tops uncovered are constantly and frequently travelling up Caledonia Street. As a one-way street with a bus route travelling along Caledonia, it is already dusty & dirty enough with that additional traffic. Before the Huron Street project I found I had to clean & dust 2-3 times more frequently than previous. Do the dump trucks have to come along Caledonia Street? If Phase I construction isn't to be completed until Late Fall, will I have to endure the additional dirt & traffic for another 5-6 months? Thanks for listening. on Facebook Share Dump trucks full of dirt, with their tops uncovered are constantly and frequently travelling up Caledonia Street. WEMK asked over 2 years agoThank you for bringing this to our attention. We will remind contractors not to use Caledonia Street as a detour route for construction vehicles.

Phase I? So I gather there will be a Phase 2 at some point?
billie ranno asked over 2 years agoThank you for your question. Phase 2 is dependent on future funding. If approved, that second phase would continue the reconstruction work westward along Huron Street.

Jerry Neill asked over 2 years agoThanks for your question. Your water service should not be affected by this work, but if it was, we would advise you in advance.

Stephen Barlow asked over 2 years agoThank you for your question. Huron Street will not be closed to traffic during the construction period. There will be lane reductions, but we plan to maintain two-way traffic on Huron Street.

Are there going to be protected bike lanes along this stretch?
Kate Swift asked over 2 years agoHi Kate, and thanks for your question. Protected bike lanes are not planned for this stretch of Huron Street. Our existing Bike and Pedestrian Master Plan does envision bike lanes on nearby streets.

is there going to be bike lanes
ron asked over 2 years agoThank you for your question Ron. Designated bike lanes will not be added to Huron Street, primarily for safety reasons. Huron Street is a provincial highway, a major arterial road, a transit route and an MTO designated truck route with high daily traffic volumes. Stratford's Bike and Pedestrian Master Plan identifies future bike routes on nearby streets, but not on Huron Street.
