The City of Stratford is preparing to reconstruct McCarthy Road East from Mornington Street to Romeo Street, beginning in the Summer of 2026. The project will partially replace underground infrastructure and renew the roadway and improve active transportation infrastructure.
The specific improvements scheduled for this street are:
Extension of the watermain from Graff Avenue to Romeo Street.
Replacement of storm sewer from Mornington Street to Graff Avenue.
Addition of buffered bike lanes on McCarthy Road East from Mornington Street to Romeo Street.
Installation of Pedestrian Cross Over (PXO) at Graff Ave & McCarthy Road East intersection.
Extending the north sidewalk on McCarthy Road from a point 160m east of Mornington Street to Romeo Street.
Road widening and resurfacing the asphalt roadway.
Removal of trees in poor health or in conflict with the proposed improvements.

Your participation is voluntary. All individual responses are submitted as part of an open online and public process. Comments received will be summarized and provided in a report to Stratford City Council in accordance with the provisions of the MFIPPA.
